Jerry Grider, 75, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016, at the Piggott Community Hospital.
He was born on March 26, 1941, at Pollard, Arkansas, and was the son of the late Lester 'Red' and Erma Eloice Gribble Grider.
He was united in marriage to Carol Williams on August 12, 1961, and to this union two sons were born.
Jerry retired from Ford Motor Company in St. Louis, Missouri, and was an active member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Pollard, Arkansas.
He is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, Carol Grider of Piggott, Arkansas; sons, Gary Grider and wife Melissa of Columbia, Tennessee, and Keith Grider of Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren: Brandon Grider, Sarah Grider, Holly Terry, Joshua Grider, Justin Grider, and Amanda Grider; great-grandchildren: Blake, Kymber, Marleigh, Travis, and Jordyn; brother, Larry Grider of Florissant, Missouri; sister, Erma Neely and husband Ronnie; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 8, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Loy Culver officiating and Bock White assisting. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Tim Neely, Eric Neely, Brandon Grider, Richard Terry, Billy Kirkland, and Wayne Hendley. Honorary pallbearers are John Dover, Gary Conley, Terry McLeskey, Tommy Hardcastle, and Tom Johnson. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation begins Monday at 11:00 a.m.
