Jimmy Ray Howell, 69, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away Sunday, October 30, 2011, at the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Arkansas. Jimmy was born on October 25, 1942, in Nimmons, Arkansas, and was the son of the late Roy and Lorene Broadway Howell. He began driving a truck at the age of 15 under the instruction of Jack Schrader and continued to drive a truck for 32 years for North American VanLines. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Piggott. On July 7, 1984 Jimmy was united in marriage to Francine Hogard. He is survived by his wife Francine Howell of Piggott, Arkansas; two daughters, Marissa Howell of the home and Carla Blackwell of Piggott, Arkansas; two grandchildren: Summer Thornton of La Plata, Maryland and Steward Blackwell of Florida; two sisters, Alberta Houser of Piggott, Arkansas, and Audrey Darby of Paragould, Arkansas; three brothers, Dr. George B. Howell of Wichita, Kansas, Johnny Howell of Pollard, Arkansas, and Gary Howell of Piggott, Arkansas; and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lorene Howell; two sisters, Louise Howell and Agnes Hatcher; four brothers, Roy Howell, Jr., G.W. Howell, Arlin Howell, Troy Howell; and one nephew, Dr. John Howell. Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 3, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Rev. Charles Cooper officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Jeff Howell, Jerry Howell, Mark Howell, James Howell, Alan Howell, Jason Howell, Mike Howell, Daniel Burr, Bob Houser, and Steward Blackwell. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Howell, Johnny Howell, Ronnie Dunlap, Sam Bearden, Monte Bellers, Paul Tanner, Jim Renard, and Jr. Jackson.
