Joan M. Swartz of West Plains, Missouri passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at the General Baptist Nursing Home in Piggott, Arkansas.
She was born January 3, 1946 in Sparks, Maryland to Lewis Clinton Cooper, Sr. and Eva Mae (Freeland) Cooper. She was married to the love of her life, Bobby Swartz, on September 5, 1964 in Baltimore County, Maryland.
Joan was an excellent cook and made the best chicken salad and sloppy joes. She had a great sense of humor and loved being able to make people laugh. Most of all, she enjoyed traveling with her husband and missed him every single moment since he departed this life in November 2016.
She was a former member of Stablers United Methodist Church, Parkton, Maryland; Green Mount United Methodist Church, Glen Rock, Pennsylvania; and a current member of Union Grove Baptist Church, Crider, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, dear husband of 52 years, and beloved sister, Beverly Fletcher.
She is survived by her brother, Lewis "Bud" Cooper and wife Janice of Conyers, Georgia; niece, Emily Norton; nephews, Duane Cooper, Chris Cooper, and Donnie Swartz; and special friends, Cliff and Anniece Moss.
A private memorial service will be conducted at a later time. Memorial contributions may be made to Union Grove Cemetery in Crider, Missouri.
