Joe Thomas Fowlkes, 83, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away September 6, 2015, at the Piggott Community Hospital.
He was born on March 29, 1932, in Weakly County, Tennessee, and was the son of the late James D. and Mary Roma (Fisher) Fowlkes.
He was united in marriage to Alma Jo Isbell on September 8, 1951, and to this union three children were born.
Joe worked for 35 years as a Tool and Die machinist and he was a Veteran of the United States Army. He joined the Masons in 1968 and was a former Past Master of Lodge 151 in Farmington, Michigan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Debra Anne Webster; and his sister, Romona Sue Fowlkes.
Survivors include his wife, Alma Jo Fowlkes of Piggott, Arkansas; sons, Steven Wayne Fowlkes and wife Trina of Houston, Texas, and James D. Fowlkes and wife Michelle of Jefferson, Georgia; son-in-law, Jeff Webster; eight grandchildren: Ryan Webster and husband Andy of Tacoma, Washington, Bradley Webster and wife Stacey of Midland, Michigan, Brittany Fowlkes, Erin Fowlkes, Kelly Fowlkes, Kaley Fowlkes, and Jasen Fowlkes; two great-grandchildren, Reid Webster and Brynn Webster; sister, Doris Brooks and husband Sam of Reeves, Tennessee; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 11, 2015, at 1:00 p.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Charles Richardson and Anthony Dowdy officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation begins Friday at 11:00 a.m. until service time.
