Ivan Joe Lambert, 89, of Pollard, Arkansas, passed away August 17, 2023, at his home near Pollard, Arkansas surrounded by friends and family.
He was born on August 31, 1933, near Pollard, and was the son of the late Bert and Dixie (Hosea) Lambert.
He was united in marriage to Lois Ann Ward on March 8, 1956, and to this union five children were born.
After serving in the US Army for 2 years as a diesel mechanic, he farmed and carpentered until 1983 when he started working at Darling Store Fixtures in Piggott, Arkansas. He retired from Darling in 1998.
Joe was saved as a young man at New Hope Baptist Church in Pollard, becoming a member there. Years later Joe and wife, Lois became lifelong members of Fagus General Baptist Church in Fagus, Missouri where he liked playing the harmonica with the choir. He also really enjoyed the Sunday night services at Trailer's Chapel in Pollard, Arkansas.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and son Mike Lambert.
He is survived by two sons: Steve (Beth) Lambert, Johnny (Kelly) Lambert both of Pollard, Arkansas. Two daughters: Linda (Paul) Edwards of Piggott, Arkansas, and Judy Raney of Pollard, Daughter-in-law Joy Lynn Lambert of Pollard; eleven grandchildren: Michael Raney, Julie Raney, Kristi (Logan) Cheshire, Haley (Jesse) Trolinger, Kayla Edwards, Roman (Chasidy) Lambert, Allison (Sam) Yates, Keri (Brandon) Blue, Jeremiah Lambert, Joseph (Cassandra) Lambert, and Molly (Logan) Wesley; nineteen great-grandchildren Ivy, Mason, Jase, Aiden, Evan, Reed, Harmony, Madilyn, Kanaan, Cyrus, Amelia, Ethan, Grant, Judd, Abigail, Eliza, Jethro, Oaklynn, and Saylor.
Funeral services will be held at Fagus General Baptist Church in Fagus, Missouri with Shelly Elkins officiating and Loran Johnson assisting. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
Pallbearers are Michael Raney, Jeremiah Lambert, Joseph Lambert, Paul Lambert, Roman Lambert and Wayne Hendley. Honorary pallbearers are all of his hunting, fishing and card playing buddies. Visitation is Saturday at 9:00 am for family and 10:00 am for public with funeral following at 2:00 pm.
