Joe Ann Parris, 76, of Kennett, Missouri, passed away August 26, 2020, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born on June 22, 1944, in Nimmons, Arkansas, and was the daughter of Elaine and Lena (Crow) Gattis. She was preceded in death by her father, Elaine Gattis; mother, Lena Gattis; brothers, Frank Gattis and Denzel Gattis; sisters, Oma Barks, Dorothy Owens, Polly Owens and Faye Simmons. She was a homemaker and caregiver and cared for her Aunt Fannie for many years. To get out of the house, she would go battle that "One-Armed-Bandit" at the boat and many times she would win. Survivors include her children, Tracy Stevens of Kennett, Missouri, Rex Anne Galyean of Piggott, Arkansas, Sandra Stevens of Rolla, Missouri, Denny Stevens of Licking, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; sisters, Brenda Burress and Fannie Gattis; special friend, Harrison "Jack" Bailey; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 29, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at the Nimmons Cemetery in Rector, Arkansas. Burial is in Nimmons Cemetery in Rector, Arkansas. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. The family will have a Celebration of Life at Nimmons Community Center following the burial.
