Joel Howard Whitten II, 48, of Pollard, Arkansas, passed away January 19, 2018, at St. Bernards Regional Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
He was born on October 22, 1969, in Little Rock, Arkansas, and was the son of Joel Howard and Dorothy Lillian Lindsey Whitten.
He was united in marriage to Jennifer Parker and she preceded him in death after nine years of marriage.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy Whitten of Pollard, Arkansas; brother, Brian Eugene Whitten of Nimmons, Arkansas; sister, Rebecca Jo Lindsey-Holaday and husband Andrew Martin Holaday of Lansing, Michigan; nephews: Trevelian Nityananda Taber, Gypson Narayan Taber, and Cody Ray Whitten; niece, Cheyenne Elizabeth Whitten; great nephews: Sebastian Wyatt Smith, Aysa Raye Whitten, and Emryk Brody Whitten; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 26, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Bro. Doug Clinton officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery. Pallbearers are Dave Ward, Cody Whitten, Nathan Wheeler, Shawn Parker, Allen Parker, Troy Banning, Larry Gore, Jerry Ermert, Joe Stender, and Cory Maulden. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Gore, Jacob Gore, Emryk Whitten, and Parker Quinn Ward. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Thursday at 6:00 p.m. until - 8:00 p.m.
