John Gettings, 76, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away April 25, 2023, at his home. He was born on January 10, 1947, in Pollard, Arkansas, and was the son of the late Welburn Gettings and Viola (Voss) Bishop. John was united in marriage to Joyce Gettings on November 8, 1993. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Johnny Gettings; and stepson, John Shaw. John is survived by his wife, Joyce Gettings of Piggott, Arkansas; two daughters, Kimberly Gordon and Tisha Patterson and Demian Ritter of Rector, Arkansas; stepdaughter, Pam Gore and Brice of Rector, Arkansas; five grandchildren: Cheyenne Brown, Shannon Patterson, Keighyn Ritter, Anthony Gore, and Haley Gore; one great-granddaughter, Maisyn Brown; two sisters, Marie Wirtle and husband Ralph and Carolyn Sue Downham; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 29, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas.
