John Louis Lee II of Piggott, Arkansas passed away in his sleep July 17, 2026 at his home in Piggott.

He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 31, 1955, and was the oldest son of the late Mary Ruth Hunter-Holloway and John Lee I.

John Louis Lee was united in marriage with Julie Jean Lee on November 17, 1990.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother James “Jimmie” Cox.

He is survived by his son- Christopher Lee, his ex-wife Julie Lee and her daughter Ashley Bageant, his sister Jo Ann Bishop and her husband and children, and many loving nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and cousins.

John was a man that loved history, music and sports. He was always learning new things and loved talking with his son long into the night about whatever they could think of. His hobbies included building model airplanes, reading, and watching movies.

John was a veteran of the US Air Force serving as an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile mechanic for four years before going to college and earning his bachelor’s degree in education. He left college and served several years in the US Navy traveling all across the Pacific Ocean.

While he had always wanted to be a teacher, he spent most of his life working hard to provide for his family and ensure a brighter future for his son.

There will be a private memorial on a later date at the Piggott Cemetery.
