John Shaw, 45, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away Friday, December 7, 2018, in Piggott, Arkansas. He was born on October 22, 1973, in St. Louis, Missouri, and was the son of Rev. John Lester Shaw and Joyce (Barrett) Shaw Gettings. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. John Lester Shaw. John graduated with the Class of 1992 from Piggott High School. He was a class clown and a jokester, who loved making people laugh. He enjoyed gardening and mowing his yard. John was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the St. Louis Cardinals. Art and Music were his passion. He drew many pictures over the years that will be cherished by his family. He was a very talented drummer who loved playing at home or in the band with his friends. Survivors include his mother, Joyce Shaw Gettings and husband John of Piggott, Arkansas; son, Jonathan Daniel Shaw of Kansas City, Missouri; two sisters, Pam Shaw of Rector, Arkansas, and Tisha Patterson of Rector, Arkansas; many aunts and uncles and several nieces and nephew; and a countless number of friends. Visitation is Wednesday, December 12, 2018, from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas with funeral following at 3:00 pm with Bro. Loran Johnson officiating. Burial is in Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Curtis Fuller, Brice Gore, Anthony Gore, Ron Barrett, Shawn Shaw, and Shannon Patterson. Honorary pallbearers will be Barry Whaley, Jonathon Morgan, Gary Shaw, Ronnie Cote, Jimmy Long, Demian Ritter, and Rick Shaw. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
