Johnny Blake Moody, 61, of Greenway, Arkansas, passed away July 22, 2017, at NHC in Kennett, Missouri.
He was born on October 17, 1955, in Piggott, Arkansas, and was the son of Geraine and Betty Blake Moody.
Johnny was a longtime member of South Thornton Church of Christ in Piggott, Arkansas, but most recently he was a member of Slicer Street Church of Christ in Kennett, Missouri. He farmed in the Clay County area for many years and during his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking. He also loved animals.
He is survived by his mother, Betty Moody of Piggott, Arkansas; brother, Larry Moody and wife Barbara of St. Francis, Arkansas; nephew, Chris Moody and wife Sarah of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; great-nieces and nephews: Avery Taylor, Camden Rylee, and Easton Sawyer; and many other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held Monday, July 24, 2017, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with funeral service immediately following at 2:00 p.m. with Richard Akins officiating and Alan Morris and Dr. Britt Burcham assisting. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Joel Coomer, Chris Moody, Alan Morris, Kent Coomer, Kevin Gurley, and Newton Wells. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Mikel, Matt Sutfin, Randy Caldwell, Larry Russell, Paul Hoggard, and Steve Bell. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Children's Home in Paragould, Arkansas.
