Joyce Benson, 48, of Rector, Arkansas, passed away October 2, 2019, at NEA Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born on December 3, 1970, in Kennett, Missouri, and was the daughter of Curtis and Marjorie (Green) Holifield. Joyce was united in marriage to Richard Benson on May 24, 1996, and to this union a daughter, Tana, was born. Joyce was a member of the Church of Christ. She attended with the congregation at 9th and Hafford in Rector, Arkansas. She served the Piggott Community for 24 years at Piggott State Bank. She started out as a teller and transitioned to the loan department and later she was promoted to loan officer. She recently had the privilege of serving as the Vice President. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie Joyce Holifield and her mother-in-law, Sandra Benson. Survivors include her husband, Richard Benson of Rector, Arkansas; daughter, Tana Benson of Rector, Arkansas; father, Curtis Holifield of Piggott, Arkansas; brothers, David (Mary) Holifield of Holland, Missouri, and Neil Holifield; brothers-in-law, Greg (Brandy) Benson of Paragould, Arkansas and Stanley (Jennifer) Benson of Piggott, Arkansas; nephew, Matthew (Johannah) Benson of Paragould, Arkansas; father-in-law, Gail Benson of Piggott, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends. Joyce was a loving and devoted mother, wife, daughter, sister, and friend. She cherished spending time with her family. She enjoyed taking care of all her animals, especially her dogs. Joyce had a charismatic personality and was loved by many. Funeral Services will be held Monday, October 7, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, with Sean Sullivan officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Geoffrey Norred, Wade Boyd, Cody Knight, Sam Poole, Aaron Speer, Richie Culver, Jessie George, and Richard Smart. Gerrain Poole will serve as an honorary pallbearer. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Sunday from 5:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
