Joyce Ward, 88, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, formerly of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away December 1, 2017, in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She was born on February 15, 1929, in Holcomb, Missouri, and was the daughter of the late James and Lena (Johnson) McComb. She was united in marriage to Eugene "Gene" Ward on July 31, 1947, and to this union six children were born. Gene preceded her in death on August 27, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her son, Criss Ward; brothers: Stanley, Junior, Jack, Paul, Glen, Jerry Don, Charles, and Marvin; an unnamed infant brother; and sister, Hope Davidson. Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Bissey of Labadie, Missouri; sons: Dennis Ward of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Roger Ward of Dexter, Missouri, Richard Ward of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Robert Ward of Dexter, Missouri; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Ted McComb of Piggott, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 4, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Ken Johnson officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Monday 9:00 a.m. until service time.
