Obituary

Julius Wesley Renfro, 85, of Piggott, Arkansas, residing in Perry, Georgia, passed away August 26, 2020, at Serenity Place Hospice in Dublin, Georgia. He was born on January 26, 1935, in Pollard, Arkansas, and was the son of Leslie and Alma (Conley) Renfro. Julius was united in marriage to Mary (Powell) Renfro on August 2, 1959. He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Renfro; mother, Alma Conley Renfro; granddaughter, Delaynie Doty; great-grandson, Austin Higdon; brothers, Doyle Renfro, Donald Renfro, Robert Renfro; twin brother, Junius Renfro; and an infant sibling. Julius was a longtime member of Wright's Chapel Methodist Church in Piggott, Arkansas. He worked as a Diesel Mechanic for Tom and Sons and later opened and operated Renfro's Garage in Piggott, Arkansas. He loved to garden and especially enjoyed canning his vegetables for his family and friends to enjoy. He dearly loved his dog, Ellie. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and papa. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Mary Renfro of Piggott, Arkansas, residing in Perry, Georgia; children, Ruth Ann Dodd of Missouri, Susie Webb and husband Bobby of Piggott, Arkansas, Shelby Hughes and husband Henry of Piggott, Arkansas, Sarita Doty and husband Todd of Perry, Georgia; grandchildren, Robert Killian, Tasha Fears, Justin Fears and wife Teri, Chantel Higdon and husband Tyler, Millicent Webb, Ashley AufderHeide and husband Matthew, Nicole Siebert, Keegan Doty and wife Heather, Morgan Doty, and Talor Doty; great-grandchildren, Allison, Raven, Landon, Jade, Judah, Blaze, Tanner, Trinity, Adalie, Avery, Abigail, Teagan, Ashtyn, Mary Grace, Mark Benjamin, Elijah, Riley, Natalie, Ethan, and Noah; sister, Jenny Blake and husband Jack of Piggott, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, August 29, 2020, from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas, with a service following at 4:00 p.m. with Rev. John Hiegel officiating. Burial will follow in Cummins Chapel Cemetery near Pollard, Arkansas. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
