June Ella Haywood Thompson was born June 21, 1932, to Herbert and Neatie Edwards Haywood. June passed away Thursday, March 26, 2015, at home surrounded by her family. One February 3, 1951, June was married to Edward Thompson and to this union five children were born, Debra, Martie, Anthony, Tamara, and Kyle Ray. She was preceded in death by her son, Martie Thompson; parents, Herbert and Neatie Haywood; sisters, Lorene Staples, Thelma Moreland, Betty Perry; brothers, Doyne Haywood and Vernon Haywood. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Edward Thompson; her children: Debra Redford of Piggott, Arkansas, Anthony Thompson of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Tamara (Tammy) Lyman and husband David of Piggott, Arkansas, and Kyle Ray Thompson and wife Kelly of Moscow Mills, Missouri; grandchildren: Melissa Shannon and husband Dan, Matthew Redford, Anthony Thompson, Jr., Joseph Thompson, Kacy Lyman, Shawn Lyman, Carly Thompson, Kennedy Thompson, and Kyle Edward Thompson; great-grandchildren: Kayla and Jessica Shannon and Tyson Redford; sisters: Berneda Dees, Bonnie Perry, and Roselie Lillyroot; brothers, Jimmy Haywood, Jackie Haywood,Leroy Haywood, and Larry Haywood; and many other and friends. Funeral services will be held Sunday, March 29, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Kevin Murray officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation begins at 6:00 p.m. Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Judes Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
