Obituary

Kay Howell, 77, of Pollard, Arkansas, passed away June 22, 2019, at her home in Pollard. She was born on December 20, 1941, at home in Pollard, Arkansas, and was the daughter of Eugie and Vadala (Johnson) Holifield. Kay was united in marriage to Johnny Ural Howell on May 26, 1961. She was preceded in death by her father, Eugie Alvin Holifield; mother, Vadala Jane Holifield; son, John Howell; and brother, Mike Holifield. Kay was a longtime member of New Hope Baptist Church of Pollard, Arkansas, and was one of the oldest living members. Church was a huge part of her life and she was dedicated to her church from a young age. She was also a talented seamstress and spent many hours making her children's clothes when they were younger. Kay enjoyed scrapbooking and made her children and grandchildren scrapbooks that they will cherish in the years to come. Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Johnny Howell of Pollard, Arkansas; children, Mark Kevin Howell and wife Laura of Piggott, Arkansas, James Dewon Howell and wife Lisa of Piggott, Arkansas, Teresa Diane Akers and husband Mike of Piggott, Arkansas; grandchildren, Zac Howell, Gary (Ashley) Boozer, Josh (Brittany) Pitts, Amanda (Matt) Culver, Noah (Madison Cate) May, and Shane (Nikki) May; great-grandchildren, Josie Kay, Jasper, Averie, Tallory, Grayson, Kyle, and Jada; brother, Jack Holifield and wife Diane of Oklahoma; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at 11:00 a.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, with Mike Akers, Bro. Loy Culver, and Bro. Matthew Collier officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Steve Baker, Zach Baker, Zac Howell, Noah May, Matt Culver, and Wayne Hendley. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Conley, John Dover, Nick Yount, Jim Chandler, Spencer Permenter, Ronnie Neeley, Mike Ward, Ted Harmon, Dave Harrison, and Marty Conley. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Monday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to the New Hope Baptist Church WOM.
