Obituary

Kenneth Moore, 84, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away July 10, 2017, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born on July 3, 1933, to the late Clevel and Fanny McCumber Moore in Carryville, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his sister, Delores Bellers and brother, Elmo Moore. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Jean Moore of Piggott, Arkansas; son, Gregg Moore of Carryville, Arkansas; daughter, Lisa Moore Hailey and husband Doug of Maumelle, Arkansas; daughter-in-law Latraca Tanner Moore; four grandchildren: Brittnee Elrod and husband Searcy of Greenbrier, Arkansas, Jared Hailey of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Brooke Moore of Piggott, Arkansas and Ashton Hailey of Maumelle, Arkansas; many nieces, nephews, several cousins and host of family and friends. Kenneth was a Korean War Veteran, serving 4 years in active duty and 4 years in Reserve in the US Navy. He married Jean Turner on March 17, 1956, and they moved to St. Louis in 1956 where he attended Diesel Mechanic School. They returned home in 1957 to farm with his father and brother until he retired in 1995. He also raised cattle and hogs. He was good with his hands and mechanically minded. He could repair anything. After he retired, he enjoyed restoring antique tractors to their original condition. He was a hard worker and loved his family. He especially enjoyed the holidays when the family could all be together. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a member of the Piggott West Side Church of Christ. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 12, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Scott Rhumann officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery. Pallbearers are Neil Morgan, Blake Tanner, Byron Moore, Glen Moore, Rick Wyss, and Robert Sample. Honorary pallbearers are Jim Rogers, Don Haddon, Aldion Turner, and Frankie Turner. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Tuesday at 6:00 p.m.
