Kenneth Grissom, 83, of McDougal, Arkansas, passed away April 20, 2026, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Arkansas.
He was born on January 12, 1943, in McDougal, Arkansas, to Elbert Ray and Georgie Lee (Parrish) Grissom.
Kenneth was united in marriage to Kathy Jane French Phillips on December 17, 1971, and together they shared many years of life and family.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the Corning, Arkansas VFW Post, where he valued the fellowship and camaraderie of fellow veterans.
Kenneth worked as a Construction Superintendent, a role that took him to many areas over the years, including Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Hot Springs, Arkansas. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his work.
In his spare time, Kenneth greatly enjoyed coon hunting, a pastime he loved and shared with others over the years.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elbert Ray Grissom; his mother, Georgie Lee Grissom; his son, Kent Dewayne Grissom; his brothers, Marvin and Donald Grissom; and his sisters, JoAnn Couch and Vada Hardin.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Kathy Grissom; his children, Richard Phillips and wife Jennifer of Knobel, Arkansas, Bruce Phillips and wife Kelly of Maynard, Arkansas, Lyndell "Chuckie" Grissom of Oglesville, Missouri, and Stacey Decuyke of Piggott, Arkansas; his grandchildren, Colby, Kelby, Brittany, Sara, Lindyn, Kaden, Charles, Kasey, and Ashley; his great-grandchildren, Birdie Jane, Kelsey, Kinsley, Kayla, Reid, Willow, Blane, Greyson, Cora, Jaden, Mason, Jaxon, Kingston, and Marquis; his brother, Clois Grissom and wife Diane; his sisters, Ramey Shipman and husband Carroll and Barbara Harris and husband Devon; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas, with Johnny Bradshaw officiating. Burial will follow in Mars Hill Cemetery in Rector, Arkansas.
Pallbearers will be Kevin Hardin, Keith Hardin, Bentley Grissom, Bradley Grissom, Wade Harris, and Chris Grissom. Honorary pallbearers will be Todd Kilbreath and the members of the Corning VFW.
Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be held Thursday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
