Obituary

Kenneth Kirk, 73, of Pollard, Arkansas, passed away on January 10, 2019, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. He was born on March 26, 1945, in Michigan. He was raised in Pollard, Arkansas by his grandfather, Willie Kirk. Kenneth worked for Penzel Construction Company for several years. Later he became a truck driver ending his driving career with Ozark Motor Freight. In his younger years he loved building race cars and coon hunting. He attended church at Trailers Chapel Church until his health failed. Kenneth was a member of Masonic Lodge # 207. Kenneth is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sheila; a daughter, Lisa Gifford and husband Darrell of Jonesboro, Arkansas; a son, Dennis Kirk and wife Tammie of Rector, Arkansas; a granddaughter, Amanda Gifford of Jonesboro, Arkansas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Danny and Billie Plunk and Butch and Jane Bare all of Piggott, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends. A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas, with Charles Carrens officiating with a Masonic service following. Pallbearers will be Steve Baker, Zack Baker, Dewayne Holifield, Gaylon Burkman, Harold Dunlap, and Austin Engle. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to the Alzheimer's Association or Flo or Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
