Larry Ezell, 68 of Piggott, Arkansas passed away Thursday, September 25, 2014 suffering a heart attack while driving a dirt moving tractor near Victoria, Arkansas. Larry was able to place the gear in neutral and received immediate CPR from a fellow co-worker and then EMT personnel without success.
From a young age, Larry was taught to work in the cotton fields and that an upright person is worthy of his wage. Some of his jobs included plumbing, building, landleveling, hauling gravel, hay bailing etc. He was employed by Elmer Holifield, Gary Howell, Lester Crossfield, Glen Moore, Mark Mann, and Max Mayberry. He considered his work an essential part of his life. He liked to hunt and bring in the meat.
Larry was born December 6, 1945 in the Langley Community, near Piggott, Arkansas to the late Charlie and Edith Boyd Ezell. Training for jobs was a hands-on-experience for him and if anyone could, Larry was the type of person that would put for the effort. As an employer once said a few years ago, Larry hardly ever complained about anything he just kept that truck moving.
Preceding Larry in death were his loving parents, Charlie and Edith, his brother Donnie Dewaine Ezell in 1965, an infant nephew and niece, and brother-in-law Larry Holifield.
Larry leaves his mate Debra Hoggard, her parents Punk and Joyce Hoggard, two special pals: Brandon and Bradley all of Piggott, Arkansas; one brother and best friend Charles Ezell and wife Wilma of Patterson Missouri; three sisters: Valda Willie and husband Vernon, Carol Holifield, and Margie McKenny and husband Roger, all of Piggott, Arkansas; six nephews: Chuck, Darrell, David, Shane, Shawn and Brent; six neices: Debbie, Sandra, Sheila, Shary, Shelly and Melissa; several great and great great nephews and neices, one great great great neice, several cousins, and many other relatives, and friends.
A special trait of Larry's was getting people to laugh. Larry contributed to a group with his funnies and could lighten one's spirit with his sense of humor. He will be sadly missed by loved ones, family, friends, co-workers and the community.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on September 27, 2014 in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Charles Richardson officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will be held at a later date. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements.
