Larry Wayne Melton, 67, of Corning, Arkansas, passed away November 15, 2018, at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was born on October 30, 1951, in McDougal, Arkansas and was the son of Garland and Lula Melton. Larry was united in marriage to Phyllis (Battle) Melton on February 24, 1987. He was preceded in death by his father, Garland Melton; mother, Lula Melton; and brothers, Don Melton, J.T. Melton, Thomas Earl Melton, and Roger Frazze. Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Melton of Corning, Arkansas; sons, Shane (Paula) Lerma of Paragould, Arkansas and Jason Melton of Jacksonville, Florida; daughters, Shannon (Randal) Trammell of Piggott, Arkansas and Shala (Terry) Riney of Paragould, Arkansas; sisters, Veda Beecher of Corning, Arkansas, Marie Kilbreath of McDougal, Arkansas, and Dora Mae Beecher of McDougal, Arkansas; brothers, Ewell (Caroline) Melton of Paragould, Arkansas and Homer Melton of Piggott, Arkansas; grandchildren, Lindsey (Landon) Hunter of Piggott, Arkansas, Amber Trammell of Piggott, Arkansas, Kinsey Lerma of Paragould, Arkansas, Asher Lerma of Paragould, Arkansas, Aaron Trammell of Marmaduke, Arkansas, Zachary Trammell of Piggott, Arkansas, Chase Riney of Paragould, Arkansas, Kahlan Riney of Paragould, Arkansas, and Marissa Melton of Jacksonville, Florida; great-grandchildren, Kaleb Hunter of Piggott, Arkansas and Kylie Hunter of Piggott, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 17, 2018, at 12:00 pm at the Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, with Jared Hancock officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Carol Shipman, Terry Bradberry, Mark Williams, Marvin Kilbreath, Russell Kilbreath, Junior Lee Honeycutt. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Saturday from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas.
