Lavonne Berry, 79, of Rector, Arkansas, passed away February 2, 2017, at her home in Rector, Arkansas. She was born on March 28, 1937, in Keota, Oklahoma, and was the daughter of the late James Monroe and Virginia (Petty) Weece. She was united in marriage to Wendell Berry on August 29, 1953, and he preceded her in death on March 25, 2002. Lavonne was a loving, caring mother and grandmother. She is survived by her sons, Timmy Berry and wife Kathy of Springfield, Missouri, and Lonnie Berry and wife Lisa of Prescott, Arizona; five daughters: Marlene Berry of Bloomfield, Missouri, Arlene Gregory and husband Roger of Rector, Arkansas, Vicki Berry of Gulfport, Mississippi, Teresa Berry and friend Grover of Kennett, Missouri, and Melissa Berry of Rector, Arkansas; fifteen grandchildren; twenty eight great-grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; sister: Ima Derskey and husband Jake of Arizona; sisters-in-law, Betty Russell and Jane Lacy; brother-in-law, Charley Berry and wife Glenda of Tennessee; and many other relatives and friends. Graveside service will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Gravel Hill Cemetery in St. Francis, Arkansas. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangement. Visitation is Tuesday, February 7, 2017, from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.
