Marguerite Malone Smart, 98, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away March 12, 2020, at the Heritage Nursing Home in Kennett, Missouri. She was born on February 20, 1922, in Greenway, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late Hightower and Ida (Moore) Crowson. She was united in marriage to W.F. "Dub" Smart on March 7, 1942. He preceded her in death on December 13, 2014, after over 70 years of marriage. Marguerite worked for Brown Shoe Company in Piggott, Arkansas, and spent many years working alongside her husband farming. She enjoyed quilting and crocheting. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents; her son, Kenny Delaine Smart; brothers, Fuson Crowson, Donald Crowson, Dallas Crowson, Howard Crowson, and Ray Crowson; sisters, Erma Smart, Iramae Garner, Faye Goodman, and Velera Carr. She is survived by her daughter, LeiLani Smart and husband Dean Scallion of Piggott, Arkansas; two granddaughters: Margret Katherine Bearden of Piggott, Arkansas, and Mary K. Linam and husband Tommy of Rector, Arkansas; three great-grandchildren: Dylan Reed, Desirree, and Kenny; great-great grandson, Jase Reed; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. at Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas, with Lavone Smart officiating. Burial is in Mitchell Cemetery in Greenway, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Neil Crowson, Joe Crowson, Jeff Smart, Tim Bearden, Mike Morgan, and Michael Morgan. Terry Bearden will serve as honorary pallbearer. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Monday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
