Martena Belle (Lawrence) Davis, 85, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, formerly of Pollard, Arkansas, passed away December 8, 2017, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She was born on December 27, 1931, in Pollard, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late David Monroe and Rita (Dees) Lawrence. Her parents and her brother, Gaylon Lawrence, preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Robert Lee 'Bob' Davis on January 1, 1955, and to this union a daughter, Patricia, was born. She is survived by her husband, Robert 'Bob' Davis of Jonesboro, Arkansas, and her daughter, Patricia Davis of Jonesboro, Arkansas. Martena was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Piggott, Arkansas, for over 40 years. She worked in education in Arkansas and Missouri for over 40 years before retiring. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Piggott, Arkansas, with John Hiegel officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Steve Lambert, Mike Lambert, Johnnie Lambert, Tim Holland, David Gregory, and Jim Richardson. Honorary pallbearers are Richard Forrest and Brenda Forrest. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Monday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
