Martie Thompson, son of Edward and June Haywood Thompson, was born February 21, 1955, and passed away Aug 30, 2012, at his residence. Martie was born in Piggott, Arkansas, and attended Piggott Public Schools until 1964. In 1964 the family moved to Kansas City, Missouri and lived there until 1968. In 1968 the family moved to St. Charles, Missouri. Martie graduated from St. Charles High School in 1973. He joined the Navy that same year. After leaving the Navy, Martie became a truck driver. He leaves his parents, Edward and June Thompson; two sisters: Debra Redford of St. Peters, Missouri, and Tamara (Tammy) Lyman and husband David of Piggott, Arkansas; two brothers: Anthony Thompson of Piggott, Arkansas and Kyle Thompson and wife Kelly of Mosco Mills, Missouri; nine nieces and nephews: Melissa Shannon and husband Dan, Matthew Redford, Anthony Thompson Jr., Joseph Thompson, Kacy Lyman, Shawn Lyman, Carly Thompson, Kennedy Thompson, and Kyle Edward Thompson; two great nieces: Kayla and Jessica Shannon, and many other relatives and friends. Services will be held Friday, August 31, 2012, at 6:00 P.M. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Kevin Murray officiating. Visitation begins at 4:00 P.M. August 31, 2012, in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel.
