On December 24, 2018, at 5:10 p.m., a very strong and wonderful lady, Mary Maxine Chandler, went to Heaven. Maxine passed at her home in Cabot with her four children present. She was greeted in Heaven not only by our God but by her husband Edward of 68 years. Her mother and father Beulah and Thomas Mathers; her beautiful sisters, Louise Rice and Lorene Battle; and a great many more of family and friends of hers. Maxine left behind on this earth her sons, Sam Chandler of Greers Ferry, Arkansas, Thomas Chandler and wife Sarah of Cabot, Arkansas, Jim Chandler and wife Janice of Pollard, Arkansas, and Timothy Chandler of Cabot, Arkansas. Maxine had a great many grandchildren including, Kelley Barker and husband David of Houston, Texas, and their children, Lacey, Heather and James; Jeff Chandler and wife Melissa of Pflugerville, Texas and their children, Jonah, Abigail, and Megan; Joey Chandler of Cabot, Arkansas; Carla Chandler of Cabot, Arkansas, and her children, Dustan, Steven, and Courtney; David Chandler and Leslie of Cabot, Arkansas, and children, Hanna and Hayden; Chris Chandler of Cabot, Arkansas, and his children, Matt and Isabella; Jerry Ermert and Hope of Pollard, Arkansas, and their children, Elizabeth, Miranda, and Micah; Melinda Green and her husband Tim of Piggott, Arkansas, and their children, Brandy, Jessie, and Chelsea; Robert Chandler and Laura of Pollard, Arkansas, with their children, Breanna, Madison, and Micah. Maxine also left behind four nieces, Kelly Davis, Pat Baxley, Phyliss Melton, and Jean Davis; two childhood friends, Lavern Nicholas and Loretta Holifield; as well as so many others on this earth that loved her. Maxine had many more great-great-grandchildren not listed here – all of these were very important to her. Maxine accomplished a great many things over 89 years here on this earth. She was a wife, a mother, a business owner, factory worker, and for over 15 years one of Cabot's Avon sales representatives. She took great pride in her children and grandchildren as well as friends here on earth. She was a woman of great faith and a Christian at an early age. Maxine was a member of the Briarwood Baptist Church in Cabot, Arkansas. Maxine was born July 7, 1929, in Pollard, Arkansas, and she started working in her early teen years. She married in 1945 to Edward Chandler and lived and worked her life with him in their homes in Michigan and Arkansas. A visitation will be held Thursday, December 27, 2018, at Briarwood Baptist Church in Cabot, Arkansas, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a service immediately following with Bro. John Powell officiating with Bro. James Davis assisting. An additional visitation will be held Friday, December 28, 2018, at New Hope Baptist Church in Pollard, Arkansas, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a service immediately following with Bro. Matthew Collier officiating with Bro. Loy Culver assisting. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Jonah Chandler, James Barker, Joey Chandler, Matt Chandler, David Chandler, and Chris Chandler. Honorary pallbearers are Jeff Chandler, Robert Chandler, and Jerry Ermert. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
