Mary Belle Johnson, 87, of Pollard, Arkansas, passed away January 11, 2020, at her home near Pollard, Arkansas.
She was born on November 6, 1932, in Pollard, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late Lonnie and Edith Ann Brown Elkins.
Mary was united in marriage to James Alvin Johnson on November 6, 1949, and he preceded her in death on October 18, 1991.
She was also preceded in death by her brother, Norman Elkins and sister-in-law, Alma Elkins and brother, O'Dell Elkins; sister, Zora Sullivan and brother-in-law, John Sullivan and sister, Lucy Mae Elkins; granddaughter, Holly Mauldin Alonzo; nieces, Glenda Faye Duncan, Diane Moore, and Sheila Baker; and nephew, Tom Sullivan.
Mary loved being outside, enjoyed singing, and always loved eating her dessert first. She especially cherished being with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her five sons, Glenn Johnson and wife Gay of Piggott, Arkansas, Terry Johnson and wife Lynette of Piggott, Arkansas, Kerry Dale Johnson and wife Tammy of Dyersburg, Tennessee, James Clay Johnson and wife Tess of Pollard, Arkansas, and Timothy Elkins Johnson of Fort Yukon, Alaska; daughters, Annita Sharrai of Pollard, Arkansas, Mary Kay Wagner of Pollard, Arkansas, Barbara Bedwell and husband John of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Ellen Noles of Piggott, Arkansas, and Pam Mauldin and husband Ralph of Piggott, Arkansas; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great and great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Linda Elkins of Pollard, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at 1:00 pm at the Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, with Bro. Loran Johnson officiating. Burial is in Cummins Chapel Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas with grandsons serving as pallbearers. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Tuesday from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm in Piggott, Arkansas.
