On September 20, 2025, Mary Deeda Pollard, was called home at the age of 80.
She was born on August 10, 1945, and was the daughter of the late Philip and Delphia Loreen (Gross) Ballard.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Gregory Lee Pollard; her siblings: William "Sonny" Ballard, James Ballard, Dixie Beatrice Bounds, Mable Thompson, and Albert Ballard.
Mary was gifted with a warm and loving personality. Mary attended LVN training at Doctor's Hospital while attending Poplar Bluff High School. During this time, she met the love of her life, James Pollard and they married on June 23, 1963. She also worked in the Medical Records Department at Piggott Community Hospital for over 30 years, where she was a beloved employee.
She is survived by her husband James Pollard of Pollard, Arkansas; children, Deron Pollard and wife Kimberley of Piggott, Arkansas, Derek Mitchell Pollard of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Amanda Dawn Pollard of Pollard, Arkansas; grandchildren: Ben Scott and Bethany Jackson; great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Cooper, and Ava; sister, Phyllis McLain of Fort Worth, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 27, 2025 at 12:00 p.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas, with Bro. Shelly Elkins officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Earnest Fry, Kevin Fry, Jeff Ballard, Galyon Burkman, Michael Dowd, and John Hedrick. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
