Mary Lou Scott, 84, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away Monday, February 5, 2018, at General Baptist Nursing Home in Campbell, Missouri. She was born on October 18, 1933, in Paragould, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late Virgil and Mintia (Holder) Neal. She was united in marriage to Nelson Lavaughn Scott on July 2, 1951, and to this union six children were born. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Mintia Neal; two infant sisters; and one infant brother. Survivors include sons: Mike Scott and wife Sandy of Paragould, Arkansas, Roger Scott and wife Debbie of Piggott, Arkansas, David Scott and wife Mona of Piggott, Arkansas, Barry Scott and wife Paige of England, Arkansas, and Alan Scott and wife Beverly of Piggott, Arkansas; one daughter, Donna Murdock and husband Mike of Holcomb, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren: Russell Scott, Shana Scott Simmons, Sara Wright, Brice Scott, Eric Scott, Kelli Malin, Travis Scott, Tyler Scott, Craig Scott, Kristen Scott, Ben Scott, April Murdock, and Kevin Murdock; and thirteen great-grandchildren. Mary Lou was a homemaker and worked very hard raising her family and working on the farm. Later in life she enjoyed working in real estate and insurance. She was very active in her church and community. She stayed busy checking on others and was always willing to help. She loved Christian music, George Strait music, dominos, working Sudoku puzzles and giving Bible lessons. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, February 7, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. in the Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas, with Kevin Murray officiating. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer's Association in her memory.
