Obituary

Max Bentley Poole, 75, of St. Franics, Arkansas, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior February 4, 2020. He left peacefully while sitting on his front porch overlooking his farm. Max was baptized in 2003 by Brother Kevin Murray. Max loved his church family and especially his Sunday School class where he was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Max was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, to Ralph Dean and Gaye Poole. He spent his life farming and raising cattle on his farm. He loved the rodeo and he was a calf roper and team roper. Max was a hunter and spent many fun times with his hunting buddies chasing coyotes, running dogs, and he loved to deer hunt. He was mostly proud of his precious grandchildren and loved telling them stories and teaching them about horses, cattle, and farming. Max was a loving father and adored his two daughters whom were daddy's girls and thought he hung the moon. He was a member of the St. Francis Fire Department, Arkansas Cattleman's Association, and Clay County Saddle Club. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Dean Poole and Gaye Smart; his beloved brother, Dean Poole and his beautiful daughter, Denisa Alice Poole. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Billie Sue Turner Poole; sweet daughter, Candice Sue Holcomb; and his adored grandchildren, Colton Max Poole and wife Hannah, Beau Alex Wicker and wife Tarryn, Hollie Raelyn and Tessa Makenzie Holcomb and Brooke Alice Shipley. Visitation will be held Friday, February 7, 2020, from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Piggott, Arkansas, with funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Kevin Murray officiating. Burial will be held in Gravel Hill Cemetery in St. Francis, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Damon Cluck, Darrin Cluck, Dale Poole, Hunter Jackson, Shawn Shipley, Nathan Hoggard, Colton Poole, and Beau Wicker. Honorary pallbearers are Phillip Wagster, Brad Riddle, Brad Tullos, Darrell McCrillis, David Wagster, Darrell Dalton, Ronnie Cole, Wade Poole, Eugene Roberts, Ed Morris, Rickie Haywood, Gerayne Poole, Charlie Poole, Sam Poole, and Eddie Poole.
