Melba Juanita Broadway, 85, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away October 2, 2018, at Rector Nursing and Rehab in Rector, Arkansas.
She was born on March 10, 1933, in Clay County, Arkansas and was the daughter of Luther and Ruby (Houston) Clayton.
Melba worked for Brown Shoe Company for many years. She loved flowers and gardening.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Broadway; mother, Ruby Beatrice Clayton, father, Luther Clayton; son, William Eugene Broadway; sister, Naomi R. Brannon; brothers, Donald Gene Clayton and, Harold Clayton.
Survivors include her daughters, Marsha (Rick) George of Piggott, Arkansas, and Carrie (David) Bott of Suffok, Virginia; sons, Luther Broadway of Nimmons, Arkansas, and Michael (Jacqueline) Broadway of Nimmons, Arkansas;grandchildren, April (Dennis) Flowers, Jodie Thompson, William Bott, Jessica (Gary) Starnes, David Allen (Samantha) Bott, Katherine Broadway, Amber Broadway; great-grandchildren, Micah, Jadyn, Cody, Christian, Payton, Eliana, Madelynn, Lillith, and Saylor; sister, Shirley Perry of Piggott, Arkansas; brother, Mickey Luther Clayton of Paragould, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 5, 2018, at 2:00 pm at the Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, with Marston Carpenter officiating. Burial is in Nimmons Cemetery in Nimmons, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Larry Brannan, Tim Brannan, Andy Brannan, Nicholas Brannan, Dennis Flowers, and David Bott. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Friday from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas.
