Melba Delois Hosea Purl, 81, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away July 11, 2017, at her home in Piggott. She was born on March 13, 1936, at St Francis, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late Ollie O. and Sara H. Creek Hosea. She is survived by her children: Chery Andrews of Piggott, Arkansas, Suzann and Leroy Simplot of Piggott, Arkansas, William Marshall Purl, Jr. of Byron, Illinois, Robbin Miller and Billy Finley of Puxico, Missouri, Sandy and Tom Wirtanen of Glendale, Arizona, and Johnny and Linda Purl of Piggott, Arkansas; 39 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild; two sisters: Rose Mary West of Piggott, Arkansas, and Geraldine Haywood and husband Leroy of Piggott, Arkansas; brother, Ronnie Hosea and wife Brenda of St. Francis, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, July 15, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with funeral service to immediately follow in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Shelly Elkins officiating. Burial is in Holcomb Cemetery near Pollard, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Randy Miller, Donald Miller, Sterling Purl, Nico Purl, Melvin Bragg, and Arron Cookson. Honorary pallbearers are Joshua Bragg, Joshua Reed, Stuart Kuhman, and Jim Butler. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
