Melvin Ethery Foster, 89, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away March 24, 2016, at his home.
He was born on November 10, 1926, in Piggott, Arkansas, and was the son of the late William E. and Flora Mae Bolton Foster.
He was united in marriage to Ruby Muriel Turner on November 24, 1949, and to this union two sons, Rick and Kenny, were born.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Muriel Foster on May 2, 2015, after 65 years of marriage.
Survivors include sons, Rick Foster and wife Lori of Peoria, Illinois, and Kenny Foster and wife Lisa of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; two granddaughters, Ricole and Ashley; one step grandson, Brandon; and three great grandsons, Caydon, Leeim, and Travis Christopher; three brothers: Donald Foster and wife Melba of Piggott, Arkansas, Marvin Foster and wife Pat of Port St. Luci, Florida, and Bill Foster and wife Irene of Jefferson City, Missouri; sister, Ollie Hardee and husband Oliver of Webb City, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 28, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. at Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Kent Miller officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Monday 1:00 p.m. until service time.
