Obituary

Michael "Slim" Reeves, 46, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away May 13, 2025, at Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Arkansas.

He was born on August 1, 1978, in Piggott, Arkansas, and was the son of Jeff and Angie (Greene) Reeves.

Michael was united in marriage to Shelby Romines on July 23, 2021.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Butch and Doris Erwin and Bob Spinks; maternal grandparents, Onard and Dolly Greene.

Michael is survived by his wife, Shelby Reeves; daughters, Micha Reeves, MaKalia Schmidt and husband Forrest, and Brooklyn Beck;  the family's beloved dog, Ellie Mae; parents, Jeff and Angie Reeves; grandchildren: McKinley Blocker, Westyn Schmidt, and Clayton Schmidt; brother, Kevin Reeves; nieces and nephews, Quentin, Madison, Hunter, and Gunner; and many other relatives and friends.

Michael loved old cars and especially enjoyed working on his 68 Firebird. The St. Louis Cardinals were his favorite sports team and he loved watching games and supporting them each season. He also enjoyed selling and collecting trading cards. He was known for his hard work and selflessness. For almost 9 years he worked at Nucor, as Overhead Crane Operator, where he made close friendships. He had a deep love for his family.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Piggott, Arkansas, with Bro. Kevin Murray officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Jason Causey, Brad Davis, Eric Dehart, Jackie Farmer, Matt Lacy, and Chad Thompkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Chuck Lyons and Dan Settlemoir. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Friday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Piggott, Arkansas.
