Mildred Virginia Ollis, 91, of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, passed away October 13, 2014, at her home in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She was born on May 19, 1923, in Qulin, Missouri, and was the daughter of the late Rudy K. and Effie (Brown) Clemons. She was united in marriage to Marvin Ollis on June 11, 1941, and to this union two children were born. Mildred loved gardening and cooking for her family. She retired from Carter Carburetors after 30 years. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Marvin; her son, Darvin Dewane Ollis; two brothers, Slim Clemons and John Rudy Clemons; and sister, Norma Morgan. Survivors include her daughter, Effie Marcella Lane and husband Vernon of Erin, Tennessee; daughter-in-law, Linda Ollis of Granite City, Illinois; eight grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends. A visitation will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m until 12:00 p.m. with a graveside at 12:30 p.m. at New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas, with Willis Smith officiating. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
