Minnie Jean Tanner, 95, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away September 26, 2026, surrounded by her family in Pocahontas, Arkansas.

She was born December 5, 1930, in Piggott, Arkansas, to the late William Thomas and Allie Maude (Freeman) Langston.

Minnie married Roland David Tanner on January 21, 1948. To this union a son, Mark Tanner, was born.

Minnie was a longtime cook at Piggott High School, where many knew her as a “lunch lady.” She attended South Thornton Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Cornell Langston, Marie Strickland, Louella Matheny, Rita Dale, Doc Langston, Bud Langston, and Ernest Langston.

Minnie is survived by her son, Mark Tanner and wife Crissie of Pocahontas, Arkansas; two grandsons, Blaine Tanner and wife Presley, of Dexter, Missouri and Tyson Tanner and wife Courtney, of Maynard, Arkansas; six granddaughters, Jordyn, Jade, Tessa, Sloane, Jazzy, and Paisley; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas, with Bro. Mike Book officiating. Burial will follow at Piggott Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the chapel. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott is in charge of the arrangements.
