Mabel L. Hamilton, 91, of Qulin, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December, 29, 2011, at the Piggott Community Hospital. She was born on October 1, 1920, in Carryville, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late Clarence and Pearl Washburn Doty. She was united in marriage to Opie Hamilton on September 23, 1939, in Caruthersville, Missouri, and to this union four children were born. She is survived by two sons: Nolan Hamilton of Nettleton, Mississippi, and Dale Hamilton of Qulin, Missouri; two daughters: Mary Spradling of Damascus, Arkansas, and Sue Welty of Qulin, Missouri; eight grandchildren: Tom Hamilton, Connie Aldridge, Steve Hamilton, Tim Welty, Michelle Burdin, Crystal Doser, Nina Leutert, and Cameron Welty; sixteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Scharder of Qulin, Missouri, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 31, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in the Hoggard & Sons Chapel with Michael Burdin officiating. Burial is in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Tom Hamilton, Tim Welty, Cameron Welty, Lee Welty, Aaron Welty and Preston Hamilton. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Friday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
