Nelda Kay Belote, 75, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away on June 28, 2026, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
She was born on August 8, 1950, in White Oak, Missouri, to the late A.N. "Nap" Reeves and Clara (Holman) Reeves.
Nelda was united in marriage to the love of her life, Max Dalton Belote, on March 13, 1970. Together they shared over 56 years of marriage.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Bob Reeves, Donnie Turner, and Lee Reeves.
Nelda found great joy in life's simple pleasures. She had a special talent for quilting and crocheting, creating handmade treasures that will be cherished by those she loved. She adored her faithful dog, Cocoa, who was a constant companion. Above all, Nelda loved her family. She was a devoted sports mom who faithfully supported her children, and later took just as much pride in cheering from the stands as her grandchildren competed.
Throughout her working years, Nelda was employed by Brown Shoe Company and Rector Sportswear. She also spent five years traveling the country alongside her husband as a truck driver, making memories together wherever the road led.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Max Belote; her children, Darrell Belote and wife Melody of Decatur, Indiana, Tammy Crossfield and husband Scott of Piggott, Arkansas, and Crystal Belote of Kennett, Missouri; her grandchildren, Elizabeth Denielle Burns (Scott), Marissa Blossom (Jeremiah Stanton), Kacey Crossfield, Colby Dixon (Logan), Wesley Buchanan, Charlie Dennis, and Bodie Dennis; her great-grandchildren, Sophia, Scarlette, Sailor, Ryker, and Grant; her brother, James Reeves and wife Christine; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends who will miss her greatly.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2026 at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, with Charles Richardson officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
A private family burial will be held at Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas.
