Opal Joyce Daffron, 88, from St. Francis, Arkansas, passed away January 16, 2022 in Russellville, Arkansas.
She was born August 10, 1933 in Clay County, Arkansas, and was the daughter of the late Orville and Florence Orr.
She was united in marriage to Curtis Cleveland Daffron on June 16, 1951, and to this union four children were born.
Opal was a longtime member of First Baptist Church in St. Francis, Arkansas and served as a Registered Nurse at the VA hospital after earning her license at age 44.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother Harold Orr and sister Barbara McArthur.
Survivors include four children: Suzan Daffron of Russellville, Arkansas, Steve Daffron and wife Linda of Ramsey, New Jersey, Phil Daffron of Piggott, Arkansas, and Linda Yerina and husband Kevin of Russellville, Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren: R.C. Johnson, Jon Daffron, Jeff Daffron, Beth Daffron, Amanda Baty, Jennifer Benns, Amy Lishinski, Greg Daffron, Will Daffron, Molly Dennis, Ashley Yerina, Devyn Yerina, and James Yerina; fifteen great-grandchildren: Kaden, Jace, David, Kyrie, Maclean, Walter, Henry, Avery, Dean, Jacob, Aubrey, Addie, Emma, Izzy, and Avery; and brothers Ken Orr of Gulfport, Mississippi, and Jerry Orr of Bentonville, Arkansas; and many other relative and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 22nd, 2022 at 12pm in the St. Francis Baptist Church with John Hodges officiating. Burial is in Gravel Hill Cemetery in St. Francis, Arkansas. Pallbearers are grandsons: R.C. Johnson, Jon Daffron, Jeff Daffron, Greg Daffron, Will Daffron, and great-grandson Maclean Daffron. Visitation begins Saturday at 10 am at the church.
Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
