Ralph James Dalton, 92, of St. Francis, Arkansas, passed away March 9, 2020, at his home near St. Francis, Arkansas. He was born on June 11, 1927, near Chalk Bluff, Arkansas, and was the son of Jack and Hattie (Boyd) Dalton. Ralph was united in marriage to Ada Louise Sanford on October 6, 1947, and to this union two children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Cecil Dalton; sisters, Lena Johnson, Margaret Dalton, and Euale Cameron. Ralph served his country during WWII. He was wounded in combat and was honorably discharged from the Army in 1946. Survivors include his wife, Louise Dalton of St. Francis, Arkansas, son, Randy Dalton and fiancée Kristy Johnson of St. Francis, Arkansas; daughter, Barbara Moody and husband Larry of Piggott, Arkansas; grandchildren, Miranda Cavaness and husband Tim of Paragould, Arkansas, Chris Moody and wife Sarah of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, and Casey Dalton of Paragould, Arkansas; great grandchildren, Carter Hayden Cavaness, Alayna Lanae Cavaness both of Paragould, Arkansas, and Avery Taylor Moody, Camden Rilee Moody, and Easton Sawyer Moody all of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 12, 2020, at 2:00 pm at the Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, with Bro. Mark Book officiating. Burial is in Gravel Hill Cemetery near St. Francis, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Chris Moody, Jack Dalton, Sean Shipley, Tim Cavaness, Carter Cavaness, and Larry Moody. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Dalton, Darrel Dalton, Dale Johnson, and Terry Olds. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Thursday from 1:00 pm until service time at the funeral home.
