Obituary

Ramona Magee, 76, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away September 9, 2022, at Corning Therapy & Living Center in Corning, Arkansas.

She was born on January 20, 1946, in Pollard, Arkansas, and was the daughter of Denver and Rosa (Conley) Allen.

Ramona was united in marriage to Gary Magee on June 14, 1963.

She was preceded in death by her father, Denver Robert Allen; mother, Rosa Leoma Allen; brothers, Fred and Larry Allen.

Ramona was raised in Pollard and Venice, Illinois. Ramona began working selling advertisements for the Piggott Banner and later worked many years for Gossards. She also worked as an Officer in the banking industry for over 20 years and was Social Activities Director for the Piggott Nursing Home. In later years she was elected City Clerk for the City of Piggott, serving the community for 10 years. Alongside her husband, she owned and operated Magee Auction and Realty for over 50 years. She enjoyed trail riding, rodeos, and riding horses. She loved spending time with family on yearly beach vacations and enjoyed traveling the country and especially her trip to Europe. Her family will remember her fabulous cooking they enjoyed over the years, especially her dumplings and green beans.

Ramona is survived by her husband, Gary Magee of Piggott, Arkansas; son, Barry Neil Magee of Goshen, Arkansas; three daughters, Leean Magee Mann of Piggott, Arkansas, Tina Lynn Case and husband Scott of Little Rock, Arkansas, Tracey Elizabeth Mallard and husband Greg of Charlottesville, Virginia; thirteen grandchildren, Kevin Mann, Morgan Thrash, Garrett Magee, Brandon Mann, Caitlin Shemin, Carson Case, Jessica Mallard, Peyton Mann, Nate Mallard, Reese Magee, Ryker Case, Riley Magee, and MaKenzie Magee; twelve great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

Memorial service will be held Sunday, September 11, 2022, at 3:00 p.m. at the Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas, with Bro. Jerry Morgan officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Brown, Chuck Bridges, Gary Dunlap, Jim Rogers, Dave Harrell, and Ronnie Cole. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. in Hoggard & Sons Chapel in Piggott, Arkansas.
