Ray Pobst, 94, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away January 31, 2019, at St. Bernard's Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas.
He was born on December 27, 1924, in Pollard, Arkansas, and was the son of the late Louis Ray and Mary Alice (Kemper) Pobst.
Ray was united in marriage to Patsy Underwood on October 4, 1947, and to this union four children were born.
He was preceded in death by his son, Kevin Louis Pobst; grandson, Chad Dunlap; brother, Roy Pobst; and sister, Ruby Henson.
Ray served in the United States Navy during WWII and was honorably discharged.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Pobst of Piggott, Arkansas; three daughters, Phyllis Looney and husband Carl of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Teresa Dunlap and husband Gary of Pollard, Arkansas, and Sondra Gatewood and husband Terry of Benson, North Carolina; grandchildren: Kim Provost and husband Brett of Jonesboro, Arkansas, Chris Gatewood and wife Wendy of Clayton, North Carolina, Heather Henry and husband William of Clayton, North Carolina, Ashley Geary and husband Mark of Churchville, Virginia, and Blair Howell and husband Blaine of Piggott, Arkansas; great grandchildren: Drace Provost, Emma Henry, Matthew Henry, Markham Gatewood, and Andrew Gatewood; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held Monday, February 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Kevin Murray officiating. Burial will be held in New Hope Cemetery in Pollard, Arkansas. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be held Monday, February 4, 2019 beginning at 10:00 a.m. until service time.
