Raymond Lehman Carter, 82, of Rector, Arkansas, passed away September 7, 2020, at Five Rivers Medical Center in Pocahontas, Arkansas. He was born on March 12, 1938, in Russellville, Alabama, and was the son of James and Flossie (Cagle) Carter. Raymond was united in marriage to Betty Jo Hatcher on January 30, 1987. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, James Carter; and sister, Betty Jean Holland. Survivors include his wife, Betty Jo Carter of Rector, Arkansas; daughters, Melissa Gibson and husband Rusty of Marmaduke, Arkansas, Debra Marranci and husband Jimmy of North Augustus, South Carolina; grandchildren, Andrea Anderson of South Carolina, D.J. Anderson and wife Kristina of South Carolina, Gus Featherston and wife Samantha of Marmaduke, Arkansas; great-granddaughter, Amberlee Featherston; sister, Patricia Bush of Marshton, Missouri; and many other relatives and numerous friends. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, September 12, 2020, at 4:00 p.m. at the Woodland Heights Cemetery in Rector, Arkansas, with Bro. Anthony Dowdy officiating. A memorial gathering will follow at Shinndiggs, 304 South Main, Rector, Arkansas. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
