Rickey Lynn Smart, 69, of Greenway, Arkansas, passed away August 26, 2019, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Rickey was born on April 9, 1950, and was the son of Lavon "Sonny" and Erbadell Smart. Both Sonny and Erby preceded him in death. He is survived by his daughter, Dana Leigh Smart of Piggott, Arkansas; sister, Gayle and husband Ronnie Benson of Rector, Arkansas; brother, Alton and wife Dana Speer of Rector, Arkansas; brother-in-law, Gary Watson of Greenway, Arkansas; his very best friend, Linda Riddle of Piggott, Arkansas; and a host of nieces and nephews that brought him great joy and many teasing and playful moments. He was very grateful to his Bible class for teaching him about and sharing the Jesus story. A special thanks to his lifelong classmates, church, and friends for their hospital visits. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 28, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, with funeral service beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Mike Akers officiating. Burial with military honors will be held at Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Gary Watson, Kevin Benson, Austin Ellis, Dennis Pollard, Stan Hovis, and Greg Speer. Members the Ironman Bible Study Class with serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of arrangements.
