Rickey Gerane Woods Sr. was born on December 18, 1956, in Waukegan, Illinois to Doyne Woods and Doris (Roark) Cook and passed away on March 17, 2018, at his son Mitchell and wife Ashley's home in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas. He was preceded in death by his father Doyne Woods and grandfather Willy "Bub" Woods. He is survived by his mother Doris Cook of Evening Shade, Arkansas; two sons Mitchell Woods and wife Ashley of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, and Rickey Woods Jr. of Fairdealing, Missouri; brother, Bradley Cook of Evening Shade, Arkansas; two sisters: Karen Harmon and husband Raymond of Evening Shade, Arkansas, and Kimberley Hunt and husband Paul of Corning, Arkansas; one grandson, Augustus Woods; 9 nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. Rick was baptized into the Pentecostal faith and was a firm believer in the good Lord and what he could do for you. He attended a Youth for Truth program in Hot Springs, Arkansas, in 1971 which he earned a diploma for completing the program and putting his faith in the Lord. Rick grew up learning carpentry from his father Doyne, which he made a life career and retired from. He taught he sons Mitchell and Rickey since they were young how to do carpentry work as well. He enjoyed being a father and raising his boys whether it be at the lake, fishing, hunting or building things. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with family and friends. One of his greatest accomplishments and something that he was very proud of was being a Papa to his grandson Augustus. He loved and adored his grandson and getting to play and spend as much time as he could with him. Visitation will be held Wednesday, March 21, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service following at 2:00 p.m. at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jay Masterson officiating. A private burial will be held at a later date. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements.
