Rita Kay Baker passed away peacefully on May 13, 2024 at her home after many years of battling cancer. Up until the end she was more concerned with others than with herself. She was born on June 12, 1949 to Howard Jack Shepherd and Mary Eizabeth (Jenkins) Shepherd. She married Bobby Wayne Baker on September 24, 1965. She is survived by her husband, Bobby, her son, Robert Wade Baker, and her brother, Jack Shepherd. She lived a full and happy life with many hobbies and careers. She was a wonderful mother, a photographer, V.P. of First Strike Aviation, Real Estate agent, and she worked for the city and the county in many positions. She was also a painter, sculptor, gardener, and decorator. She touched many who will never forget the love, friendship and joy that she brought to their lives. As per Kay's request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
