Ronald Fithian, 74, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away January 14, 2022, at his home.
He was born on March 24, 1947, in Knobel, Arkansas, and was the son of the late Louis Ray and Lola Marie (Nettles) Fithian.
Ronald was united in marriage to Nancy King on November 19, 2003.
Ronald served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was Honorably Discharged. He retired in 1995 after 25 years of service from the Detroit Police Department serving the city as Police Officer in both the VICE Squad and the Mounted Police Division. He served as lead member of the Championship Drill Team, where he attended parades nationally and internationally. He received numerous awards for his service including the Above and Beyond the Call of Duty Award for saving an entire family from a fire. Ronald enjoyed golfing, spending many hours in his garden and especially loved reading and cooking.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Ronald Louis Fithian; brothers, Louis Ray Fithian and Rowland Fithian; and sister, Virginia Kimbrel.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Nancy Fithian of the home; daughter, Jeanette Renee Fithian of Shelby Township, Michigan; sons, Sean Minch and Spencer Minch; grandchildren, Brittany Patricia Fithian and husband Antonio Reyes of Oklahoma, Randy Lee Fithian of Detroit, Michigan, and Christopher Ryan Clave of Shelby Township, Michigan; brother, George Roger Fithian of Clinton, Maryland; and many other relatives and friends.
Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the cremation arrangements. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
