Ronny F. Dixon, 64, of Piggott, Arkansas, passed away August 7, 2017, at the Piggott Community Hospital in Piggott, Arkansas. He was born on December 30, 1952, in Piggott, Arkansas, and was the son of the late Vernon and Sadine (Meade) Dixon. He was united in marriage to Linda Gookin on June 22, 1973, and to this union two children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Danny Dixon. Survivors include wife, Linda Dixon of Piggott, Arkansas; son, Andy Dixon and wife Pam of Piggott, Arkansas, and Amy Bunch and husband Toby of Jonesboro, Arkansas; grandchildren: Logan Dixon, Tanner Dixon, Mason Dixon, and Brandon Bunch; brother, John Dixon and wife Doris of Rogers, Arkansas; and many other relatives and friends. Ronny was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Piggott, Arkansas. He owned and operated Dixon Radio and TV store in Piggott, Arkansas, from 1977 until its closing in 1999. He also worked for Casino Aztar and Anchor Packaging until he began working in 1999 with SourceGas where he worked until he retired in 2015. Ronny also served on the Piggott City Council for 10 years and volunteered for the Piggott Fire Department for 20 years. Ronny was a sports fan and especially loved watching and cheering for his grandsons during their sporting events. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 10, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church in Piggott, Arkansas, with Rondal Richardson officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Chuck Schulte, Jeff Gookin, Mike Gookin, Harold Dunlap, Toby Bunch, and Randall Trammell. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Greenway Fire Department. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation is Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church Building Fund.
