He is survived by his mother, Shirley Grissom; grandmother, Peggy Rickerson; sisters, Kasey Brown and Ashley Grissom; aunts and uncles, Jackie and Junior Somers, Diane and Ricky Vannada, Donna and Ronnie Rupe, Rhonda Starnes; very special nephews, Jaxon Dickens, Marcqus Brown, and Kyngston Brown; and stepfather, Chuck Grissom. Shawn worked as a handyman and was a one-of-a-kind, sweet soul who helped anyone in need in any way that he could. He enjoyed spending time with his mother and grandmother, who always knew when he was around because there would be fresh picked flower that he had brought for them. It didn't take much to make Shawn happy because he saw the most beauty in the simple things in life. He was happiest just being with his grandmother, drinking their morning coffee together, eating good food and finds a good movie to watch. Shawn will be missed immensely by all who loved him and to know Shawn was to love him. Rest easy to the kindest soul. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home in Piggott, Arkansas, with Doug Clinton officiating. Burial will be held in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Ricky Vannada, Andrew Neeley, Aaron Massey, Jake Vannada, Josh Spence, and Matthew Spence. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas, is in charge of arrangements. Visitation is Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
