Stanley (Stan) Lynn Graddy, 65, passed away Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at his home in Tyler, Texas.
Stan is formerly of Piggott, Arkansas born at his grandparents' home on October 4, 1953 to J.E and Una (Donner) Graddy. He was married to Jan Dewitt on March 10, 1982.
Stan graduated from Piggott High with the class of 1971. He got an early start in the heavy highway construction business working with his dad at Graddy Bros., Reynolds & Williams, Reynolds & Davis. He went to Georgia and worked there for a few years then to Tyler to work for Reynolds & Kay before going to work for a private laboratory, APEC Geoscience. He retired from there on October 23, 2018 under Brauns Geoscience. The Arkansas Razorbacks, Dallas Cowboys, and St. Louis Cardinals will miss a true fan and follower. His life centered around his family, sports, and westerns.
Stan was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earle and Pearl Graddy and Henry and Janie Donner; many aunts and uncles; a brother-in-law, Jimmy; and a great-grandmother.
He is survived by his wife Jan of the home; his son Matt (Jennifer) Dewitt of Shreveport, Louisiana; his parents, J.E. and Una Graddy; sister Merita Hanna of Piggott, Arkansas; his grandsons, Nathanel and Religh Dewitt of Shreveport, Louisiana; and many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, April 26, 2019, from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. with funeral service immediately following at 3:00 p.m. with Bro. Robert Gunnels officiating. Cremation will follow under the direction of Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott, Arkansas.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to the charity of your choice.
